The Yen Tu Festival, one of the country''s most famous spring festivals,
will offer a wide array of activities when it opens today, including
hot-air balloon rides for the first time.
Friends of Vietnam Friends Heritage (FVH) will host an excursion to the
Yen Tu Mountain on Saturday – the Holy Land of Zen Buddhism in Viet
Nam, which was founded by King Tran Nhan Tong in the 13th century.
The Japanese cherry blossom festival will be held annually from now on
in the northern province of Quang Ninh after its successful debut last
year, said a local official.

site in Quang Ninh Province yesterday to attend the unveiling ceremony

A grand commemoration of the 705th anniversary of the Nirvana attainment
of King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong, the founder of Vietnamese Zen Buddhism,
will be held at the Yen Tu religious and historical site in Quang Ninh
Province from December 1-3.
The One-Pillar Pagoda, a landmark of Viet Nam''s
1,000-year old capital Thang Long-Ha Noi, has been recognised as Asia''s
most unique piece of architecture by the Asia Book of Records.
Saigontourist Travel Service Co welcomed some 2,500
passengers and crew members who arrived in Ha Long Bay aboard the cruise
